Today was a great day for Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata as a part of Children Science Congress 2013 took place in the campus which was attended by 150 students from 15 city schools. The programme was addressed by Dr Yuan Tseh Le, First Taiwanese Noble Laureate in Chemistry (1986), Dr SC Pakrashi, Former President, ISCA, Dr Bhaskar Saha, Scientist F, National Centre for Cell Science, Pune, Dr Govindasamy Mugesh, Associate Professor, IISc, Bangalore, Dr T Ramasami, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India, Dr Shanker Doraiswamy, Scientist E II, National Institute of Oceanography, Goa, Dr Tarun Kant, Scientist E, Arid Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Mr. Abhishek Roy, Manager, Samsung Korea and Dr. P.P. Chakrabarti, IIT Kharagpur. Nobel Laureate Dr. Le while addressing the students, focused on creativity which has to be imbibed in the young minds by the teachers and parents. “You have to grasp your life in your own hand. You have to determine what you want to be,” said Dr. Le in his speech. On the other hand, he also stressed on the negative impact of global warming which would effect the young generation in a big way.
Dr. T. Ramasami stressed on Science as subject which is not for a job or making a vibrant career. Science is much away from life. “As a scientist you may not earn enough money as the field does not give you the same,” said Dr. Ramasami in his speech. He also related science with positive energy which 

very much important for the young minds to make a career as a scientist. To surprise very few students among the audience wants to be scientist as a career in the same lack lucrativeness in terms of money. Dr. Govindsamy Mugesh focused on Dedication and hard work which is a crucial way to success for young aspirants. He also stressed the role of positive thinking give instances from his life which is essential to relish the joy of success.
Dr. Bhaskar Saha motivated the students by directing them to do that which give them lots of enjoyment. “I enjoy doing science. To my opinion science should come first and then it can be molded to give birth to technology,” said Dr. Bhaskar. Mr Abhishek Roy enlightened the students with the essence of Discipline and punctuality which is imperial for career advancement.
As a whole the programme was very much fruitful for the students as they got a real-time exposure in interacting with top scientists of the world. It was attended by Shri H.K.Chaudhary, Chairman, Kalyan Bharti trust, Shri Vikram Swarup, Vice-Chairman Kalyan Bharti Trust, Shri Gaurav Swarup, Trustee, Heritage, CEO Shri Pradip Agarwal, Executive Director, Shri Probir Roy, Principal Ms Seema Sapru and many other dignitaries of the institution. Prof. Jaroslav Panek, VP, Academy of sciences of the Czech Republic, Dr
M.K.Singh, Manipur, Dr. Shashi Ahuja, DST, Prof. Michael J Waring, University of Cambridge, Prof. Ved Malick , Prof. Kalpana Chakraborty, Prof. A.S.Kolaskar, VC, Kalinga University and many more were present in the programme.
