Youth day Source: http://www.telegraphindia.com/1090129/jsp/careergraph/story_10451120.jsp The Vivekananda Institute of Environment Management (VIEM) in association with the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC), Government of India, celebrated National Youth Day — on January 12, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda — through a daylong programme at Purbashree, EZCC complex, Salt Lake, Calcutta. There were discussions and quiz contests on Swamiji. A sit-and-draw competition was also held. Sonali Bose of Beliaghata Deshbandhu Girls’ High school topped the elocution contest while Satarupa Dutta of Heritage Institute of Technology stood second. The cultural programme consisted of song and dance performances. Blankets and monetary help were distributed amongst the poor and needy. BHARAT RATNA DR. APJ ABDUL KALAM AT HERITAGE GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS KOLKATA ON 5th JULY 2011 ON THE OCASSION OF CELEBRATION OF 10 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata celebrated its 10th Anniversary with former President of India, Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam on 5th July, 2011 in the Heritage campus. It had been a magnificent moment for the Heritage School and Heritage Institute of Technology where more than 300 students, faculty members and other dignitaries got the opportunity to listen to the speech of APJ Abdul Kalam which is a prized direction for the educational conglomerate after completing 10 years of excellence in education. The day started with a huge gathering in the football ground of the campus which was decorated with a huge pandal to welcome Chief Guest Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam. At 3:30 pm, Dr. Kalam reached the campus and was received by the Secretary of Kalyan Bharti Trust, Shri H.K.Chaudhary along with Executive Director of the Trust Shri Probir Roy and CEO, Shri Pradip Agarwal. Former captain of the Indian Cricket Team Sourav Ganguly, inaugarates Annual School Festival "Youthopia 2010" at Heritage School, Kolkata on 6th May

The moment Sourav Ganguly got off his blue BMW at The Heritage School on Thursday, he was as sure about his next move as he was about half-volleys outside the off stump.He strode past the children who had gathered to welcome him, towards a physically challenged girl sitting in the distance.The gesture won more hearts at Heritage than all of Sourav's runs in IPL 3. "I was sitting there just hoping to catch a glimpse of him. I couldn't believe it when I saw him coming towards me. When he shook my hand, all the cameras turned towards me... it was a nice feeling... it was the happiest moment of my life," Harshita Bajaj of Class IV, the girl Sourav had walked up to. Heritage has blossomed smiles on millions of poor people.... Innovation beyond classrooms by the youth of India

Education not only teaches us to follow lectures but going beyond it................................igniting the creative minds It was an array of activities at Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) on Friday with the fourth edition of Dakshh 2010, the annual technology festival, getting under way. Engineering colleges from across the state will take part in the three-day fest, which is being held on the Anandapur campus of the institute. "You are as important as diode to a rectifier" - one can get to hear lines like this in the Tech@Heart competition, in which participants will use engineering lingo to convey their feelings for their loved ones. Students will put their skills to test during the fest and have dollops of fun as well.
