NASA App challenge 2018 excites the students at Kolkata's Top engineering college -Heritage Institute of TechnologyThe student led event created a knowledge based discussions around the campus.

 The NASA Space App Challenge-  Prequalifying Round was being organized at Kolkata top engineering college Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata on 15th Sept. 2018. The event started at 8 am and will be continued till 2 pm tomorrow. Nearly 400 B.tech students participated in this Hackathon to create smart apps which will used in the Space programmes by NASA. The final round will be held in the month of October at IIT Delhi.

There were 40 teams form Heritage Institute of technology comprising of 400 students participated in this International Competition. The teams would create various android apps that will solve various problem statements and needs in the space and astronomical sector. Moreover Heritage Institute of Technology marked this day as a celebration for Engineers day to commemorate the 157th Birth Anniversary of the great engineer Late Shri M.Visvesvaraya.

The award ceremony for the event will be held tomorrow from 1 pm onward at SV auditorium in the campus of top engineering college of Kolkata Heritage Institute of Technology. "Such events give the right platform for learning and development for the students," said Shri Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Madiha Ahmed a celebrity tech speaker and and a blogger.
