Noble Laureate Prof. Negishi inspired the students to be happy

Under the aegis of Centenary celebrations of Indian Science Congress, 2013, world renowned scientist and recipient of 2010 Noble Prize in Chemistry, Prof. Ei -ichi -Negishi visited Heritage Group of Institutions Kolkata for an interactive session with students, scientists and faculty members today at 4 pm.
Prof. Ei-ichi-Negishi is a Japanese chemist who has spent most of his
career at Purdue University, United States. He is best known for his discovery of the “Negishi coupling”. He was awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for palladium catalyzed cross couplings in organic synthesis" jointly with Prof. Richard F. Heck and Prof. Akira Suzuki.

Prof. Negishi is also a recipient of the following prestigious awards:-

1. Sir Edward Frankland Prize Lectureship (2000)
2. Nobel Prize in Chemistry (2010)
3. Person of Cultural Merit (2010)

4. Order of Culture (2010)

Today at Heritage Group of Institutions, he inspired the students and the faculty members to be happy which can be achieved by proper education, getting a good partner in life and always winning in every competitions in life to be at the pinnacle of success. He gave some of the instances from his life where he has won in each and every competition in all the stages of his life to earn the fame as a Noble Laureate.  “The chance of getting a noble prize is like one out of 10 to the power of seven million but to be happy, winning a noble prize is not required,” said Prof. Negishi.  He praised the students and faculty members of Heritage Group of Institutions for building up such a great knowledge infrastructure in Kolkata which is at par with international standards.
