On 12th and 13th July 2012, the Department of Computer Science Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata organized a workshop on Selected Research Topics in Computer Science engineering which was sponsored by TEQIP, Phase-II. The workshop was addressed by Dr. Sandeep Shukla, Professor, Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Tech, Dr. Prosenjit Gupta, Prof., Heritage Institute, Dr. Vishwani D. Agarwal, Prof., Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Auburn University and Dr. Partha Pratim Das, Prof. Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur.

On the other hand Dr. Gupta spoke about range searching which is highly used in computer – aided design and manufacturing, Robotics and VLSI. Moreover Dr. Vishwani D.Agarwal spoke about Power and Time Trade-off in VLSI and Dr. Partha Pratim Das spoke about parallel computational lithography with a case study of EBM writers.
