Prithviraj Sarkar, an Erasmus Mundus Alumnus currently working in Denmark, gave a talk on opportunities within Erasmus Mundus programmes both for students and alumni at Heritage Institute, Kolkata on December 19th, 2011. The participants were welcomed by the Director of the Institute, Prof. B. Paira. The event was attended by a lot of the institutions's professors, master students who were looking for PhD scholarships and engineering students from the bachelor programme.
The presentation was about 15 minutes long, followed by a Q&A session, which lasted for almost 60 minutes.
There were a lot of queries about job prospects (especially back in India) after the Erasmus Mundus education. He also talked about his experiences in Europe from a social and cultural perspective.
As the engineering students were having their winter break most of them could not attend the event, however the director of studies invited all Indian alumni to visit the Institute again and share their experiences.
The Director of the Heritage Institute was really impressed by the quality of education provided within the EM programme.
