It was a rocking day at Heritage when the Annual Cultural Fest “Eclecia -2012” ended with a fabulous performance by the team of AR Rahman Studio including Benny Dayal on 28th April 2012.
Benny Dayal was greeted by the whole team of Heritage Institute which consisted of the Principal, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, CEO, Pradip Agarwal, Deputy Registrar, Arvind Srivastav, Campus Administrator Commander S. Dey, Administrative Executive Sarbani Chakraborty and the members of the Students’ Council. The “Jay Ho Night” was an exclusive performance by Benny Dayal and other members of the AR Rahman Studio inspiring the tech students of Heritage and various other colleges. Between 26th April and 28th April, Eclecia-2012, the annual cultural fest of Heritage Institute of technology Kolkata had been celebrated in the campus. The inauguration of the fest occurred on 26th April which was graced by Mr Probir Roy, Executive Director, Heritage, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, Principal, Mr Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Mr. Clayton Moses, Academic Advisor and Mr. Sobhen Ray, Registrar of Heritage. “Eclecia would give the right platform to nurture the talent of the students of Heritage Institute so that apart from studies they get the opportunity to excel in the cultural activities,”
said, Mr. Agarwal, CEO of Heritage. Moreover
this time the students’ council of the institute who are the organizers
of the event kept a cash prize of Rs. 100000 to be won by the winners of
different competitions in the fest. During these days the students were
busy with different types of activities like Music band competition,
T-shirt painting, solo-song, solo-dance, Fashion Show, Photography and
many more. Different tech institutes across India had participated in
this great event.
Enthusiasm crosses the boundaries which made the students design the website of Eclecia with a new concept. Even the logo and the introductory movie had been produced by the students with inspiring ideas from the specialists. On 26th April, the fest had been added with a melodious performance by Somlata & the Aces followed by Video DJ-ing by DJ Hardik. On 27th April, the fest comprised of fashion show performed by different participants form various colleges followed by exciting performance by Metal Band. The inauguration ceremony of Eclecia started with an exciting dance by a group of Btech students which was followed by a melodious violin performance by Soham and Group, (who are also the Btech students of Heritage). They performed the vocal of the Rabindrasangeet “Boro Asha Kore” and “Pran chae chokkhu na chay”. The show was then concluded by a soothing song sang by one of the Btech students Ms. Gargi Karmakar who sang Rabindrasangeet “ Aguner Poroshmoni” and a modern song from the film “ Aparajita Tumi”.
“Eclecia 2012 is a wonderful medium by which we can hone the cultural skills of our batch mates. Moreover it gives us the skill to organize an event in a grand way,” said Abhirup Bhattacharya, GS, Students’ Council of Heritage Institute. Patton, Career launcher, Apollo Hospitals and Rupa were among the sponsors of the event. Prominent participants of the event consisted of Jadavpur University, Bidhan Nagar College, Calcutta Medical College, Asutosh College, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management, Scottish Church College, St. Xaviers College, Presidency University, BP Poddar Institute of Management and Technology, Future Institute of Engineering and technology, Techno India and many more.
